Tea Ceremony: The Japanese tea ceremony is a cultural activity involving the ceremonial preparation and presentation of matcha and sweets.
The workshop includes an explanation and demonstration of the tea ceremony. Participants will then make and taste their own matcha drink and accompanying Japanese sweets called nerikiri in cherry blossom and chrysanthemum flavors. Nerikiri is made from a malleable dough of white bean paste, sugar, and gyuhi (soft rice flour dough). Matcha tea bowls, made locally by Charity Last-Jordan, and extra sweets can be taken home.
